- Driver/Labourer
- The driver labourer will be on hand to deliver products, parts and materials to and from clients and / or suppliers – The deliveries and pickups can range geographically, and the incumbent will be expected to be flexible around working hours to suit the needs of the business. The position holder will be expected when working in the workshop to be on hand to support the chargehand and foreman as well as the skilled operatives, this support will include cleaning of materials, lifting, carrying, moving materials, cleaning, sweeping and all other general labouring type jobs. The incumbent will be expected to support the business and management with other tasks that may include personal jobs that need completing.
Duties:
· Support the management team with tasks that need completing suitable to a driver / labourer.
· Report directly to Foreman / Chargehand who will issue jobs and instructions which will include – Cleaning of materials, moving, lifting, sweeping, holding, clearing racks, storage, loading and unloading.
· Be on hand to support the workforce in the shop and whilst on site
· Act appropriately whilst customer facing remembering that they are always the face of the company.
· Adhere to all site rules and regulations when necessary – It Is the responsibility of the incumbent to understand the site rules and regulations of each site before the visit / delivery, Ignorance and breach of rules and regulations will not be tolerated.
· Driver is expected to adhere to all the UK road rules and treat the company vehicles with respect.
· If the incumbent is trained in forklift usage, he / she will be expected to use the company forklift to help load and unload deliveries. The usage of the fork truck will be in line with training course undertaken.
Requirements:
– Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
– Experience operating manual transmission vehicles.
– Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members and customers.
– Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects as needed.
– Flexibility to work varying schedules, including weekends and evenings if required.
